My wife & I started this business with the sole purpose of helping others!My life was miserable!It was like having an ugly disfigureing disability.What is embarassing is that it is a preventable disease!

After an auto accident in 1976, I had a terrible experience with a military dentist & it created a phobia that would not allow me to see a dentist!By 1998, my teeth were so loose, I actually pulled one myself & many could be moved with a gentle nudge of my finger!I was embarrassed to go into public.

I had avoided dental screening for the past 10 years knowing that if discovered, I would have to seek dental aid or be forced out of the military before retirement! The day I feared arrived!I was head of the section in charge of combat readiness.It was this position that allowed me to dodge dental inspections!While conducting one of these exercises, the medical officer noticed how I hid my mouth while talking.He ordered me to open up.This was the lowest moment of my military career.The problem was so terrible, I was ordered to dental care now!

My fear was so bad, I opted for an early retirement & gave up a promotion to E8/1SG, the highest rank any enlisted soldier would want!

I met my current wife during my final year in the military.
